Simulated Cross Country Show

The course will comprise of knock down rustic fences on a surface, designed to simulate the challenges of a cross country course. The courses may include an angled double, a skinny fence, a corner, a water tray, barrels etc.
There will be a timed section of the course to determine the fastest clear round.

Back protectors MUST be worn. Competitors are invited to wear cross country or showjumping (hacking jacket) attire.
Classes from cross poles to 90cm.
Due to the Covid circumstances, this show will be strictly pre entry only, with no on the day entries. Covid regulations will be reviewed prior to the event, but we have published them as we expect them to be below. Please read and review prior to entering.
ALL ENTRANTS MUST COMPLETE A DECLARATION EMAILED OUT PRIOR TO ARRIVING AT THE SHOW FOR TRACK AND TRACE PURPOSES.

PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS DOCUMENT. ENTRIES WILL BE CANCELLED IF COMPETITORS AND/OR ASSOCIATES DO NOT ADHERE TO THE GUIDELINES AND CONDITIONS DETAILED BELOW.

COVID-19 - Anyone displaying symptoms of Covid-19 or anyone that has been in contact with someone displaying symptoms in the last fourteen days must not attend the show.Symptoms include, temperature, persistent cough, loss of taste or smell.

PLEASE THINK OF OTHERS AND OBSERVE STRICT SOCIAL DISTANCING RULES2 Metres. We strongly encourage the use of masks and gloves where appropriate. Please do not gather with other groups outside the group you are travelling with.

NO ENTRIES ON THE DAY. PRE ENTRIES ONLY – NO EXCEPTIONS.

Takeaway food will be available to purchase from xxx, situated in the lorry park. Please observe social distancing when queuing and use hand sanitizer before. Please take your food back to your lorry or trailer.

Portable toilets will be located at xxx. The toilets will be checked and sanitized regularly. You are asked to use hand sanitiser that is available outside the loos prior to entry. Please do not use the loos in the yard areas.

The secretary will be based in the blue bus. The office will be manned but strictly out of bounds to competitors – please phone 07787 283781 for assistance on the day. All rules regarding classes and dress code will be as per the normal schedule.

ARRIVAL, PARKING & ATTENDANCE

We will not accept any entries on the day. If you have not entered, please do not come.

Riders may be accompanied by one other person/groom, and one additional person for every additional horse that is entered. No other persons, such as family members or owners are permitted and people within your group must travel in your lorry or towing vehicle. Arrivals in separate cars are not permitted and will be asked to leave. Children should be supervised at all times; we ask that only competing children attend. If there are special circumstances, requiring permission for a variation on this, please email the secretary at bryonyharper@gmail.com before the close of entries.

Please park within and in front of the 3 m gaps marked out with black and yellow hazard tape along the fence line. Do not park in unmarked gaps. This leaves the recommended distance between vehicles. All tacking up and preparation of horses/ponies must take place within your designated parking area and if possible your box/trailer.

Please ensure you pick up any poo, loose hay or litter from around your lorry and take it home with you. Please don’t leave this for us to do at the end of the day!

 

Warm Up & Competing

There will be a maximum of 5 riders allowed in the main warm up arena with no pedestrians. Please do not try to enter on foot. There will be two warm up jumps (cross pole/upright and oxer) and a steward available to alter the jumps.

Lead Rein entries will be accepted in Class 1 & 2. Please state on the entry if you are a lead rein entry and we will allocate your time to ensure the maximum number is not breached within the warm up.

We will operate a grass flatwork warm up area, allowing a maximum of 6 riders (no pedestrians) in. These will not have a steward, so you are responsible for ensuring you follow the one way system to the main warm up.
Access to the main warm up is via the road, so please do not wait in the road or the lorry park entrance to be allowed into the warm up. There will be a small waiting area by the road that you can walk around until you are allowed in. Please only WALK in this area. You will go straight from the main warm up into the ring and once you have completed your round, you will be allowed out through the gates at the opposite end of the ring to ensure a one way system is maintained. Please be mindful of maintaining social distancing when crossing back into the lorry park.

Do not use the pre warm up more than 30 minutes before your time so that the flow of riders can be maintained to ensure we run to time. Times must be strictly adhered to and competitors must compete in order of allocated times.

There will be a course walk before each class. Only competitors will allowed to walk the course. No children on the arena or walking the course unless competing. Please walk the course as quickly as possible and observe a distance of 2 metres from others at all times.

Once you have ridden, please load up your horses and leave the venue. Results will be posted online and rosettes will be posted out after the event.

Please help us to keep shows running for you. It is essential that the government guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic around social distancing are strictly adhered to for the successful continuation of equestrian sports. Anyone found not to be adhering may be asked to leave the site. Thank you for your co-operation.
